Turner and a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cram of Kanab, was the winner in a recent national piano audition in Farmington, hew Mexico. Lyle received a superior, She is a student of the Sherwood School of Music and also takes lessons from Mrs. Beth Christensen. Esta Taylor Riess, and piano teacher from Phoenix served as judge for the auditions. Lyle also has opportunities tQ exercise her music talents In playing for church activities and she recently accompanied on the piano her sixth grade class in the spring musical festival in Farmington. Guess who? That is the name of our new 4 H Club which has 4 members. We have two wonderful teachers, who are DayLean Jean Mullmer and DayLean Brown. In our frst meeting we elected officer, who are Domta Barn-soDame, president; Kaleen vice president; Cindy Swapp, secretary and Tina Mulliner, reporter. We are taking second year cooking and expect to make some very good foods. The subject areas covered will include introductory rocks and minerals. Geology 5; and Geology of South Utah, Geology 101. Upper division or graduate credit is available for Geology 101. The Institute will run three weeks, July 12 through July 30. The purpose of the Institute is to offer practical classroom and field experience, which will acquaint the student with the basic rocks and minerals in their natural setting. They will study stratigraphy, surface characteristics, and evoluation of geologic southern Utah and the Colorado Plateau. Though not essential, it is desirable for students to have had physical geology previously. Six quarter hours credit will be given for completion of the course, although It is possible to register for three hours, or to audit the course. Extensive field' trips will be 1800 taken (approximatey miles. The first eight days will ' be spent on campus in classroom study In preparation for the trip. Regular CSU summer school will begin Monday, June 14. The regular session will run for eight weeks.
