MEMEBER UTAH STATE PRESS ASSOCIATION Subscriptions $3.50 per year, $2.00 for Six Months Kane Board Reviewing Need for Bus to Page KANAB The Kane County School Board plans to decide Wednesday whether the number of students at two communities has grown to the point requiring operation of a school bus to Page, Ariz. OTHERWISE, parents of children attending school from Churchwells and Glen Canyon City will have to transport pupils to school at a rate of $1 per day per pupil paid by the school district. Because of the uncertainty of the situation, said School Supt Doyle Swallow, weve made no commitment to parents other than to review whether a school bus is needed. MR. SWALLOW said that under agreement with Page school officials, a school bus has been run to Page because it was the closest community with school ' facilities. But Mr. Swallow said that since enrollment last year fluctuated between three and nine students and averaged only a little more than five pupils per week, the board decided to discontinue the" bus. A DECISION to reassess the situation was made after the board learned the number of students has grown to 15 during the past few weeks. At one time enrollment from Churchwells and Glen Canyon City numbered well over 100 pupils. were: High Councilman Boyd Y.
