Mr. and Mrs. Quentin Isaac- daughter, Myma of California Colusa, ,are spending' a week with Mrs. Isaacsons mother, Mrs. Elwin Pratt, at Fredonia. They are also visiting with other relatives and friends In the area. Representing Fredonia LDS Ward at the recent General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints ut Salt Lake were: Mr. and Mrs. LaVier Tait, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Bryner and Mr .and Mrs. Darol Heaton. Going to Salt Lake with them was Miss Kristen Rich who spent her weekend with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Vance at Bountiful. Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Weaver d and Mr. and Mrs. Arnell were , among the fishermen at Lake Mead, during a recent stormy weekend. Neil Brooksby will be High School representative to Arizona Boys State in June 1964, the fourth and youngest member of his family to be so honored by the faculty members of the school. Boys State is sponsored Ly the American Legion as a training In citizenship, and with mock government set ups, the youths attending participate In Uiy County and State levels of political organizations. Fredonia Town Council is the local sponsoring group, paying young Bio orksbys expenses to flagstaff, where the week long activities are held on the campus of Ari- zona State College. Neil Is 17 year old junior, and is an honor student as well as being Student Body Vice President this year. He has been a class officer two years, and has been a member of both National Junior Honor Society and Senior Honor Society, being publicly chairman this year. He is yearbook photographer this year. I Its athletic activities include one year of Six man football and three year of basketball. He has been a member of Lettermans Club for two years. He has also won English awards and Typing awards. Girls State delegate from Fredonia High School this year will be- Miss RuLea Heaton, who was chosen by the faculty members on the basis of Physical Fitness, Leadership, Character, Honesty, Scholarship and Courage, according to Gay-nel- d Mackelpfang, Superintendent. Miss Heaton and the other Girls Staters will have the opportunity to participate in mock governmental activities during the week spent on the campus of University of Arizona, Tucson, while attending the annual son and Leath-erwoo- f - re-don- ias Thursday, April 9, 1964 Kanab, Utah sponsored by American Legion .Auxiliary. Fredonia PTA is the local sponsoring organization. Miss Joanne Johnson is alternate chosen by the faculty. Miss Heaton is an honor student, Junior Class president, and is active in music activities of both school and church.
