Utah along with Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico are the four Mountain States utilizing all three of these major taxes in their respective state and local tax structures. Nevada and Wyoming do not impose an income tax while Idaho and Montana have no sales tax. The study concludes that the overall average property, sales, and income tax burden for a typical family is slightly higher in Utah than in the other major Montain States cities. The study also observes, however, that because of Utahs diversified tax base the impact on any one particular tax source is not excessive when compared with that of other states and cities. In general, the report notes that the relative state and local tax burden in Utah $md the West is somewhat above that of the nation as a whole. During 1961, total state and local taxes as a percentage of personal income amounted to 11.8 in Utah, compared with 11.3 for the eight Mountain States, and 10.4 for all fifty states in the U.S. WATCH FOR OPENING OF FENTONS Toy & r.lcdsl Shop America's Greatest Drug Store Event !
