U. N was set aside for this first 20 miles on this much needed road. The Commission had previously set aside another $1,600,000 to go on two other sections of the Kanab-GleCanyon road. Approximately 20 miles will be built from the Arizona line, near the dam-sitand run westward. Another stretch through the Cat Stairs will take about seven hundred thousand. If these three projects go forward this will put the road in primary standard conditions for more than half the distance to the dam site. The few miles of construction through the Cat Stairs is the only stretch on the entire road that will present any problem, with the entire distance from .Kanab to the Glen Canyon area, low, flat land that will require a minimum of $ in road building standards. While contracts are supposed to be ready on these three projects of the Kanab-GleCanyon road, it will possibly be a week or more before they are let Survey crews have been working on the road for nearly six months. The entire road is on the primary road system and is to be built to primary specifications, according to C. H. Vance, State Road Commission -Chairman. 'AM of the primary and secondary highway projects programmed Monday by the Commission must be submitted to the U. S. Bureau of Public Road Department for approval. F. W.
