Show Welcome to Utah's B. P. W. The eyes of the "hands that rock the cradle" are focused rquarely on Sugar House today. The 35th annual convention of the Utah Business and Professional Pro-fessional Women's Clubs is being held in Sugar House starting start-ing Friday and ending Sunday. During this time more than 350 women from" St. George to Logan will gather in Sugar House to handle routine convention business, hear several talented guest speakers, and expound the theme "Organized 4 or Action - 1919, Achieve Through Action - 1958". Tnis is the first convention ever held in Sugar House and it is certain to be memorable if for no other reason than that. But this convention is also sure to be memorable in many more ways. Marguerite Rawalt of Washington D.C., immediate past president of the National Federation of Business and Professional Pro-fessional Women's Clubs, will be here. Miss Rawalt is the on)y woman who has ever been president of the Federal Bar 'Association. Her appearance will be the feature of 'Saturday night's banquet at the University of Utah Union " building. With the Sugar House business district among the most progressive in the country, the women of the state are certain to go away impressed with what the district does. In addition, Sugar House will, get a chance to look over the business tand professional women around the state. It is going to be a memorable three days and we want to congratulate the Women for choosing this area to hold the 1958 convention and we want to wish them well in all their future endeavors. |
