It's a surprise combination of rich buttery " crackers and that favorite American fruit, the cranberry. The happy result: "Cranberry Holiday Mounds", a molded dessert that's as colorful as it is delicious. Easy to make, too here's how: Cranberry Holiday Mounds One 1-l- b. can cranberry sauce 1 teaspoon grated lemon rind 1 envelope unflavored gelatin 1 tablespoon sugar 1 cup boiling water lz cup chopped walnuts ' 2 cups finely crushed 1 cup heavy cream, whipped Hi Ho Cracker crumbs Fresh orange slices Empty cranberry sauce into a large bowl. Stir in gelatin. Add boiling water and stir until gelatin is dissolved. Chill until almost firm. Then stir in crumbs, rind, sugar and nuts. Fold in whipped cream and pour mixture into 6 individual holiday molds (or a mold). Chill until firm. Unmold; place each individual mound on a chilled small plate, centered on a base of three orange slices. (If large mold is used, place on chilled serving plate and edge with orange slices.) Top, if desired, with whipped cream and whole cranberries. Makes 6 servings. ' Hew Arrival vjst -i-- '. -j -- ; . Turk, Pres, and Jack Ivans are brothers. The singers were , wearing their medals eamsd earlier .this ye'ar in the world-wide . competjtion, when they placed 5th among hundreds of quartets. As part of this honor, they recorded two numbers for Decca. . The visitors' part of ths Parade was equally as snttr-tainin- g. The Haywire Orches-tra came from San Gabriel, California for the ' second straight year.. Ths audience demanded many encores from this group. , The Four-Do-Ma.ti- cs from Seattle, were like & fresh spring breeze. These youngsters combined clever showmanship with good music. The Four Pitchhikers from Springfield, Missouri, pleased the .crowd with a wide variety of numbers. 1 The entire ensemble joined in the finale, "Keep America Singing," and Drought the audience to its feet with approval. BULLETIN - Response to the' 10th Annual Parade ofQuar-tet- s was so great, that the SPEBSQSA has arranged to present its 1959 Parade in Sugar House at Highland High School. Hoi. Com, Church Ends Program Two events for the month of November will climax the Christian Enlistment Program of the Holladay Community Church. One was the Enlistment Supper and Congregational Meeting last night, November 19th. The other is Enlistment Sunday. November 23, when the members receive canvassers in their homes and renew the commitment of time, talent and treasure to Christ through His Church. The Christian Enlistment has been an experiment in evaluating the total . program of the . church in its many departments. The Holladay Church was selected as one of the few pilot churches through- - , out the country in this project. All under the guidance and leadership of Dr. James Weary from the Stewardship Office in Chicago. The Board of Home Missions will have their eyes on the Holladay Church to see , how successful this project has been and it will greatly de-termine future development of the Holladay Church. .
