Show INDEPENDENT SUGAR HOUSE. UTAH THURSDAY JANUARY 28, 1960 PAGE FIVE FASHION: U.S.A. y VT)goLCwto In the fashion picture to the left the Royal Crown Colony of Hong Kong is producing some of the most beautiful "at home" fashions in the world. Using the same rich silk brocades for which it is famous, employing the most pains-taking hand work, adhering to the garment types that have been traditional for generations, the Royal Crown Colony has created a whole new way of dress for chic American women. How com-fortable are the little "house boy" coats and tapered pants I How graceful the long kimonos! How charming their colors - Imperial Yellow, Porcelain Blue, Lacquer Red. And how perfect - - any of them -- - for leisurely evenings at home. f vf ) ' ! 4 1 j I fJ jf j J iff l i I '..pi- - I - v i ;rr;,r3 iJ SUBSCRIBE TO THE INDEPENDENT If her reason is fear, a doctor can banish this. If it's pure selfish-ness, then tell her you'll follow her suggestion. DEAR SALLY: I'm married to a 42-year-- man who apparently hasn't grown up yet. Every time we visit his mother, he kisses her hello and when we leave he kisses her good bye - just like a kid. I think that it's just about time he stopped this little boy stuff. But do you think he's too old to change his ways now? In every other respect, he's an ideal husband. LOTTIE. DEAR LOTTIE: You sound like the typical example of a jealous daughter-i- n law. There's nothing in the world wrong with a man (at any age) kissing his mother. You should be thankful that she's the only woman this "ideal husband" is kissing! DEAR SALLY: The boy I'm interested in quit high school a year ago, and has the reputation of being rough -- - that is, he drives fast and recklessly, drinks and goes out with girls of doubtful reputation. Around me, though, he's always been as nice as anyone could wish. He asked me for a date once, but my parents put their foot down. I still like him very much and would like to date him, but he says now that I'm "too nice a girl" for him. I doubt if he'll ever change from his wild and reckless way of living but I'm still attracted to him and want very much to go out with him. What do you think about this? PENNY. DEAR PENNY: If this fellow were as infatuated with you as you seem to be with him, he would certainly try to change and be the kind of man he knows you deserve. You stay as respectable as he knows you are, and some day a man with much more than the lure of the forbidden ' will come along and you'll be thankful that you've saved yourself for him. Dear Sally By Sally Shaw DEAR SALLY: I'm 33 and my wife is 31. When we were married five years ago, we both agreed to wait until we were financially sound before starting our family. For the past two years I've been telling my wife that we can afford kids, but she's kept "VSP"J;':' putting me off. Now she's told me to wait "at least one more year." When I became angry about this, she called me a tyrant and said if I married her just so she could bear my children, I could leave any time. Can you give me any advice? W. B. C. DEAR W. B. C: Certainly your wife should realize that time's i awasting, and that at her age Mother Nature isn't always too quick to respond. Either she's afraid of motherhood or just plain too selfish to go through the in- - ; convenience of bearing children, j Holladay PTA Samples Lunch Marion D.
