Show Cannon Urges Tourist Trade As State Project Tourism offers a new dimension dimen-sion to the economy of Utah communities, according to a recommendation received today from D. James Cannon, director of the, Utah Tourist & Publicity Council. The recommendation is that every Utah community form a committee to develop the tourist industry. "Because the tourist business is a composite of many other businesses," the booklet points out. "it stands to reason that everybody in the community will benefit." He added that tourism offers of-fers the greatest promise to most Utah towns. For example, the U. S. Department of Commerce Com-merce reports : "If the community commun-ity can attract a couple of dozen tourists a day throughout the year, it would be economically comparable to acquiring a new manufacturing industry with an annual payroll of $100,000.
