Show Mack Boyce and Doreen Davis have announced their engagement No date has been set for the wedding. A joint meeting of the South Cottonwood Lions and their ladies was held last Thursday, June 12, at Maxfields Lodge. Dinner was served with a business meeting following including in-cluding installations of both men and women. Mr. Dan Hammond, the new district governor of 28-T, installed the new men officers. The new Lion club officers are : John M. Harley Jr., president; Owen Wagstaff, first vice pres.; Leo Jacobsen, second vice pres.; Charles Cameron, third vice pres.; John O. Howe, lion tamer; Marlow Crabtree tail twister; Booker Johnson and Leland Clayton, directors. Mrs. Dan Hammond installed the new ladies officers. They are: Mrs. WTarnell VanOtten, president; Mrs. Leland Clayton, Clay-ton, vice president; Mrs. Booker Johnson, second vice president; Mrs. Erwin Schelin, secretary and treasurer. Saturday.June 14, found the Merlin Shaw home surrounded with cars as relatives greeted thirty-four campers back from an eight day trip to San Juan. Joe Marcovecchio Jr. his wife, Teresa, and four children, Susan, Joe, Nick, and Linda have moved from 13th East and 58th South to Draper to a farm they recently purchased. South Cottonwood 3rd Ward will hold Ward reunion June 30th at 7 o'clock. Dinner will be served. Roger Williams, his wife, Zella, and children, Roger 19, Joalene 18, Karen 15, Neal 13, JaNee 9, and Shelly 4, have moved into Simpers house on Lakeside Drive. Charles Edward Piatt was killed in a car accident Friday the 13th. He was the brother of Cecil Piatt. Cottonwood Stake representees represen-tees at the June Conference Chorus were, Carma Colovich, David Piatt, Verol Shaw, Pat Beattie, Bob Heinze, Sharon Stevens, Louise Richardson, Mary Ann Miller, Karren Quist, and Ruth Pearson. Joseph Stocking and family have moved from South Cottonwood Cotton-wood 2nd Ward to South Cottonwood Ward. They live in Chase Acres. Clifford Boyce is having his farewell July 6 at South Cottonwood Cotton-wood Ward. Connie Johnson is leaving by plane June 20 for a ten day visit with friends in Denver. The County Recreation Program Pro-gram is in full swing at Woodstock, Wood-stock, Oakwood, and Holladay schools and they offer a ten week summer program of arts, ! crafts, and sports, and dancing.
