Lucille Van Dam had her Cub Scouts on an overnight camping trip at her cabin above Kamas in Samak Park. Rick Rammell, Kay Fedderson, Jerry Edgington, Dale Goodwin, Kevin Kay and Randy Webb had fun fishing and playing darts and other games. An Orientation Meeting was held recently and everyone working in the Primary, including 22 teachers, attended. Primary begins Tuesday, September 3 at 3:30 p.m. Prayer Meeting for officers and teachers will start at 3 p.m. Glenna Ashton, Kathy Hansen, Penny Linschoten and Jannell Ros- ser graduated from Primary during the Stake Merrihand Graduation Exercises on August.22. Friday, August 30 to spend the Labor Day week-en- d visiting in the home of Mr. Blackburns brother. But September even more important, they will visit their son James, who is on the USS Oaklahoma City off San Diego. Gene and Brent Lee, James' brothers will accompany them. Last week, 42 girls from the Stake Mutuals wait to the Spruces for camping on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. They were under the direction of Opal Gailey, Stake YWMIA President and Leone Buttars Counselor in charge of activities. It was the most wonderful time ever, they all agreed. It rained the first two days and snowed the third. The beautiful, soft snow was such an inspiration, the girls put on Christmas music. What a memorable time! Handicrafts were under the direction of talented Anna Spar reboom. The Bishoprics were invited out Wednesday evening for skits, dinner and a testimony meeting. Gloria Simons, 2nd counselor and Carlene Willson, secretary, were released with a vote of thanks for their fine work. Lois M. Callahan was sustained as the new 2nd counselor and Betty Willoughby as the new secretary. The Primary will begin their new year on September 9, Monday. Also at Sacrament meeting four girls received their graduation certificates from Primary and a Book of Mormon or a Doc. & Cov., and were then welcomed into MIA by Mae Bennett, president of YWMIA. The girls were, Lori Camac, Nyda Jean Hertig, Linda Johnson and Shelly Page. The Young Marrieds, under the direction of Gida and Terry Gandre, had an outing at Washington Memorial Park, Monday, August 26. They all helped bring part of the dinner and a good time was had by all those who participated. Fred Bytendorp, Mike Wells, and Paul Hertig from our ward, along with boys from North Central Park Ward, have been working this summer at Harry Okubo's farm, to earn a little extra money. To end the season Mr. Okubo is ging the boys a party on Monday, Ausut 26 after they have completed their work for the day. Kenneth Fox, son of Mr. & Mrs. Frank B. Fox, is now home on leave from the Army. He took his basic training at Fort Lewis, Washington, and will report to Fort Dix, September 17 where he will be shipped to an assignment in Germany. He has been promoted to PFC. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Every Smith annouce the wedding of their daughter, Sandra Rae and Mr. Ronald Dale Lowry, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Francis Lowry in the Salt Lake Temple.
