Show zaar, Nov. 15th, 6:30 p.m. Come and have dinner and buy some of your Christmas presents. Many are interested in the health of Sister Sarah Giles, long a mem- ber of our Ward. She has recov- ered from a bout with pneumonia and is her old cheery self once again. She is living at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Willard Dav- idson. Welcome home Capt. Andrew D. Glad from Vietnam! He has just finished a tour overt there with the Marine Corps. Captain and Sister Glad and family will be moving to Yuma on the 23rd where their new Quarters have been assigned. Bon voyage and lots of luck! Miller Ward The Beehive class invited pa- rents to attend a refreshment sem- inar where Sister Lyman, representing the Stake, presented a film and voice documentation. Speakers were Sister Joyce Bawden, LedaT. Lyman and Mary Blackburn. Also Bishop Robert T. Fitt. Refreshments were served. Miller girls volleyball team won over the Granite Park team. Miller Junior Boys team won over Central Park Ward 42 to 38. For 16 years Carl Erickson has served faithfully and well as custodian of our building. He has weathered difficult problems and has handled his job effectively under less than ideal conditions. We are grateful to him for his fine service and desire to offer our sincere thanks as a ward to this fine man for his outstanding service. It is hoped that his life will be happy and that he will find time for many other activities after his retirement. Mr. and Mrs. Erickson were given a quilt in appreciation. Those member who have newspapers and who are bringing them regularly to the garage at the rear of the chapel will be interested in knowing that we also have need of clean rags. These rags will be packaged for clean wiping rags and sold to help defray die Ward budget. Any help that you can give us either in gathering rags and newspapers will be greatly appreciated. A youth fireside was held at the home of Karen and Lynn Christensen. Dennis Grob gave a talk. Elder Quorum dinner party plus a show is scheduled for Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. The Relief Society presidency wishes to thank all those who helped to make our bazaar a success. Thank you for giving of your time, talent, etc. Mutual Marrieds fireside will be held at Deward McMurdies, 70 E. Miller, Nov. 17th at 7:30 p.m. Bishop Robert Fitt will be the speaker. Richard Lee was sustained and set apart as our new Assistant Ward Clerk. Lee Ward welcomes the following families into the ward: Betsy Johnston, Mildred Condie and Hugh Allred. New calls to service have also been received by June Ackerman, Mary Murri and Juanita Perry. They will serve in the Sunday School. Congratulations to the following Leaders and Girls of MIA who earned awards for the MIA year The Mia Maids in order to help fill their service hours did some yard work for one of the widows, in the ward. The work consisted of weed pulling, trimming plants and generally making the yard ready for winter. Relief Society Bazaar will be held Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. in the Ward house. There will be a Quit and Bake sale plus gifts and novelty booths will highlight the event. Dinner will be served with entertainment by Glen Slizht Chorus. The Relief Society is hoping to Southgate The Harvest Festival will be held on Friday, Nov. 15th. A turkey dinner with all the trimmings will be served at 6:30 p.m. The LDS students at the University of Utah will give a special see a good turnout. program.
