Often he has stolen money from others and acted as the beneficient giver while he takes his cut for performing the service. This is legal exploitation and It was the anual get togeth- so wanted to participate promote this PRI- and help VATE means of philanthropy, that we showed up at their doors one week early. You see we strongly feel that this is the proper way to be philanthropic not by some greedy taxpeople who force, through ation, men to give their money away to just any agency or nation. The modern do gooder is the best gol darned do gooder with other peoples money that can be imagined. Why hell take your home, food from the mouths of your children, to give to some native in Africa, or a Marxian citizen of Yugoslavia. When money is taken through taxation to put food in the mouths of children who are starving in Mongolia, it has the same moral foundation as if the money were distributed among the gamblers at Monaco. When we balk at the use of taxation for philanthropy the Fabians call us masters of greed. Forced sharing, regardless of the purpose of the sharing, is primitive and the personification of greed. The person or persons who feel that another man should be given something and uses other peoples money to supply that heed often cloaks himself in the mantle of respectability as the do thievery. The man who objects to keeping what he has earned, to use his earnings for the job of feeding, clothing and sheltering his own family is not greedy. For the unproductive to loot the productive to give even to the less productive and to use force to suit his purpose, is indeed the master of greed. Let philanthropy be voluntary. The greatest show of philanthropy by force on a per capita basis is the example of Laos. There are countless other such mistaken and badly planned examples. But regardless of the good or bad planning involved let us examine closely what occurs under philanthropy. non-volunt- 1961 How about the 3 out of 4 who are not suffering because they have responsibilities. Then there are the 9 out of ten who like raising children and running a house and are not involved with lack of identity? A great number of American men and women can face failure without resorting to the snake pit. In fact some of our healthier examples become stronger. The show was beautifully executed as was marriage. On Saturday, Auust 5, the following books will be added to the shelves of the Calvin S. The individual public by has no idea on what his money YOUR NATIONAL GUARD Money will be spent. This taking of occurs on a national basis, money by force (income tax) Some people must give up their money before it is earned. In most cases the money is taken from the paycheck so that the individual never sees it. A few other must come up with their quota on April 15. There is no way to avoid losing this money. You cgn not deny the use of your money. Use is hardly the right word. Theft would be the proper word. This is collective action by force. (No pun intended) Communism is collective ac- tion by force. In fact, the progressive In- - come Tax is mentioned in the Communist Manifesto as a weapon to destroy private property. Yes, we hail private philanthropy, such as the United Fund. We abhor such backward and primitive action as communal sharing as practiced by Foreign Aid or the internal example, the mess called The Farm Program. We will make a note to be on time next week for the press meeting at the United Fund Agencies. We are embarrassed with our eagerness of this week. We chalk up our eagerness to the novelty of private voluntary action in the field of economic aid. J.
