He was also widely known as backer for soft ball teams a few years ago. He is a d and respected man in Wellsville and the people of the Wellsville First ward feel fortunate that he was made Bishop. ' Beautiful and impressive funeral services were held in the Hy rum Third ward chapel on Thursday at 2 p. m. for Arthur F. Petersen with Bishop Earle W. Allen in charge. The prayer at home was by John C. Brenchley. Mrs. Beulah Jensen played the prelude and postlude and also an organ solo. Vocal duets were given by Marjorie Allen and Margaret Larsen, Joyce and Joleene Eliason and also by Parley Hall and Nellie Leishman. who portrayed the Speakers fine characteristics of Mr. Petersen were: Alban . Clawson, H. R. Adams, Louis P. Maughan, J. B. White, President Edwin Clawson and closing remarks by Bishop Allen. They stated that those who knew him best loved him most. He was always calm, and had a name as a peacemaker. He did his very best when filling a religious or civic position. He had a great deal of joy and pride in his three grandsons and (his fa)niljy. who were devoted to him. He was a fine neighbor, an honest, truthful hard worker. He built his faith on a solid foundation and died with a testimony of the gospel. He made a success of life spiritually and financially. He had the welfare of his brethren at heart. Prayers were by J. Thomas Eliason and John A. Israelsen. The graveside prayer was by Lehi Clawson. Assisting with the serving were Mrs. Nielsenls daughters, Jackie and Peggy. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Larsen of the HyrumTbird ward have purchased the Harry Wells home 'in the Third ward in Hyrum. The Wells family have moved to California recently. Wright Elected J. H. Wright of Hyrum was elected President of the Cattlemens Association of Cache Valley at their annual convention held in Logan on Friday. He succeeds Ray Theurer of Providence. Edward Olsen of College ward was elected Secretary and treasurer, Guy Larsen of Cove, directcir. Retiring secretary is Mr. Larsen and Arnold Nielsen of Hyrum is the past director. Preston Brenchley, former bishop, was recently sustained as Second Counselor in the Stake Presidency after serving well as Bishop. NOTICE returned servicemen of the!
