Wilson which was held in the First ward chape on Wed ncsday at 2 p. m. with Bishop J. W. Wright in charge. The organ prelude and . post-Iuwas beautifully played by Mrs. J. W. Wright. The ward choir, directed by Mis. J. Milton Benson and accompanied by Mrs. Wright sang two numbers, both favorites of Mr. Wilson, "Come, Come Ye Saints" and Count Your Many i Prayers Blessing expressing thanks for the beautiful and exemplary life lived by the de ceased were given by Bishop A. Silas A bn and FVesident John C. Brenchley. Former Hyrum Stake President Joseph B. White of Paradise was the first speaker. Some of his thoughts were as follows: O. M. Wilson was truly a great man. He has held many positions of trust- - He was dependable, honest to himself and to his God. He 32 was crdained a Patriarch years ago and has given over 1500 blessings that have been an inspiration and a blessing and a light to many people. His won derfu blessings have inspired people to live better lives. He was firm in his convictions, every Statement he made Was well thought out. He was a man who had no enemies and a great many friends. He loved boys and the youth because he knew that they were the future leaders of the church, the state and the nation. He has been a faithful High Councilman, a Superintendent of the Sunday School and a misionary all his life. He was a man you could have confidence in and he wouid always give you advice. He didnt count gc'od time when working in the church and rendering ervice. Mv- Wilson was a successful farmer and live stock man. He didn't neglect his farm for his church or his church duties for his farm. He kept both in good condition. He has now completed his lifes mision and his accomplishments have been great. He was blessed with good, common sense, with a gracious personality and loved by all for his great humility. We coud do no better than follow his fot steps. He received his education in the Hyrum schools- On October 13, 1913 he was ordained a Patriarch by Fpder Firancjs M. Lyman and since that time has given over 1500 blessings that have inspired people to live better and more worthy lives. His name is honored and revered by all for his spiritualty and his sincerity in his calling. He has been active throughout his entire life in the LDS church. He served in the Southern States Mission from 1833 to 1885. He was a member of the Hyrum Stake High Council for 12 years and was .Superin tendent of the First ward Sunday school for many years.' He has acted as a teaches- in many of the wards auxiliary organizan iztions and as Ward Teacher. Promoter of the Scout movement in this va'ley, he was one of the first men to receive the Silver Cache Valley Councils for outstanding Beaver award service to boyhood. ,He has also been an import ant factor in civic affairs of Hyrum, serving as the mayor for two terms and a.-- City Councilman for two teims. He was a member of the board of trustees of the Hyrum school district before its consolidate i into the Cache Ccunty district and was of the a member and pres-d:n- t District Hyrum Irrigation for, many years. He was a successful farmer and stockman-ONovember 25, 1885, he mairried Mary Elizabeth Jensen in the Logan temple. She passed away about three years ago. Their life together was one of happiness and example. Through out a of Mr. Wilsons religious and civic activities, she was of great assistance. Survivors include four fos.er chi dren, John H. The new entrance will be enclosed and contain coat racks and will lead to either the chape'- or the basethe - n. is SEVEN The Hyrum Third ward under Third Ward Bishopric 4 gloom was cast over Hyrum oiv Tuesday when word was received that Deloy Sorenson, 17, wa& killed in an airplane crash near the Logan air port. Deloy Was the fine son of Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Sorenson of Hyrum. The parents were vacationing in Mack ay, Idaho. Near relatives made futile efforts to locate them on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning, but they were contacted late Wednesday as they were entering Yeiowstone Park. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out. to these fine people in their great sorrow- - It was only a little over a year ago that their litte girl, Kathleen was killed by an automobile when she was crossing' the street in the Logan bus iness district. ' Killed in the crash also was the instructor, Mr. Grant Skeen, 27, of Logan. He was a veteran of JO years flying experience and had accumulated over 5000 hours flight time. Plane Crash Passes Away Sunday Grson Moroni Wilson, 87, former Mayor of Hyrum and for many years a Patriarch of the Hyrum L D. S. stake died at his home at 3:30 p. m. on Sunday after suffering poor health for the past seven years. Mr. Wilson was born in Ogden but has been a Hyrum resident for the past 82 years.
