Ordinarily the reception is quite clear but whenever there is a wind of any kind there is a very loud cracking and clicking in the radio. The tubes have been checked and are all good. M. S. fact that there is no noise until the wind blows indicates The poor and corroded connections in the antenna system. All connections in the aerial and ground wires should be examined. Anew serial System would be the best remedy, thereby doing away with all the corroded wire that is now being used. Whenever the volume control is moved there is a very loud noise in the speaker. Sometimes too the music will cut out and I cant hear it again until the volume control is turned farther This is very annoying. Can this condition be overcome? S. L. In your case it is a matter of volume control replacement. The control has become dirty and worn thus causing the control to act the way that it does. This work can be done by a competent radio service man, who will replace the volume control unit with another of similar construction, resistance and toper thus assuring you of satisfaction again as soon as the work is accomplished.
