The receiving set is known as the Loop Receiver. There are no outside wires. The radio waves square are picked up on a inside build located the frame wire while in locked ing. This set, steel safe, will receive stations 30 miles away. The first demonstration was giv en on Wednesday Jan. 30th, at the residence of Levi Grawshaw, the following stations were received very plain and elear: Jefferson City Mo'., Dallas, Texas; Los Angeles, Calif.; Portland, Oregon; and Oak And was again treated fine as ever before And enjoyd it well as I had done heretofore, And the great munificence sorely tempted my stomack. Cal. The following evening at the 2nc ward meeting house a large body of people were entertained with music and talks from Los Angeles Cal. and Kansas City, Mo. The station at Los Angeles broadcasting a program consisting of solos, jokes Dance Big Success Last Friday night Feb. 1st, one of the most successful M. I. A. Socials ever held, was held in the Elite Hall. The hall was beautifully doeorat-e- d with seasonable design. M. I. A. workers from all wards of the Stake were present, making a very large, sociable, and happy crowd. Dancing was the feature of the evening, and young and old enjoyed themselves in this pastime to the fine music played by the Mendon Orchestra. During the course of the evening the following musical selections were excellently rendered: A vocal duet, by Mr. Vernon and Miss Mildred Maughan; a chorus by the Wellsville Ladies Glee Club, and a vocal solo by Dr. Eugene Worley. In every respect the social was a real success and it is heped there will be more like it in the near future. Quite a number of Hyrum people attended the Pantages Vaudeville Performance at the Capitol Theatre at Logan, last Wednesday afternoon and evening- The show was real Rood and gave the best of satisfaction as expressed by many of the - Patrons.
