J. Petersen. The afternoon was spent on the lawn with needlework and luncheon. The Misses Anona Thompson and Burdette Nielsen were special guests and rendered two lovely duets on the piano; Miss Thompon also gave two comic readings. At the business meeting at the home of Mrs. Tebbs, held Sept. 4th the following ladies were axcepted as members of the society: H. R. Adams, Victor PeterMilton sen, Allen, Isabelle DeWitt, Merrill Baxter, J. B. Baxter, Leo G. Nielsen, A. J. Clawsen, J. A. Israelson and Miss Effie Jones. Next in order was the election of officers for the coming seasons work. Each officer was elected by ballot with the following result: For President, Mrs. J. H. Wright; Mis. Isabelle DeWitt; H. R. A Literary and Social committee were also appointed and arrangements were made for members to attend the convention of the Northern District of Associated Womens Clubs, held at Garland on Sept. 7th. The Society held its first reguler meeting on Friday afternoon Sept. 14th, at the home of Mrs. Oluf Olsen, with Mrs. Isabelle DeWitt as hostess. The Meadames A. J. Peter, sen, Calder Hall and Isabelle DeWitt gave splendid reports of the convention they attended at Garland. Mrs. Russell Hansen and Mrs. D. V. Anderson of Logan, and Miss Minda Wilson, were special guests. Mrs. D V.
