To my Friends in Hyrum and South Cache: For the first time since we divided on Party lines, Hyrum has been honored with the nomination for County Assessor on the Democratic Ticket, and your humble servant is the candidate. For six years,, as deputy in the Assessors office, I have worked hard to improve the system and to get the books and records' in an and presentable shape. Persons who have inspected our books throughout the state, say that our books are second to none in the state. I am anxious to still add to our good reputation by further improvements, and especially to reach a more perfect system of equalizing the valuatioh of real estate; and believing that I am qualified to do this in such a manner as will bring a saving to the County, and satisfactory service to the taxpayer, I ask for your support on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov.- 5, 1918. Faithfully yours, C. F. Olsen. f up-to-da- - And even Rag Carpets for the Capitol Building must be expensive. Look at your, tax notice.Adv. - Mr. and Mrs. T. N. Democratic County Committee Paid Ad. on A 21 Householders throughout the country are to be allowed three pounds of sugar a month for each member of the family hereafter instead of two, according to official instructions sent out Thursday to all state food administrators. Sugar regulations are also revised to perof an entire mit the purchase months supply for a family at one time. Rulings received early Thursday by State Food Administrator W. W. Armstrong pertained only to Utah and made the additional allowance of one pound a month, on the theory that the state possessed an oversupply of sugar because of the lack of transportation facilities, which caused much of the new crop to remain here after its manufacture. Later instructions from Food Administrator Hoover made the ruling nation-widMr. Hover declared that the relaxation of restrictions placed on the use of sugar four months ago was made possible by the rapid manufacture of the beet sugar crop in the west, the new cane sugar crop in the south, the reduction of in consumption manufacturing, freer transportation conditions and patriotic conservation by the public. The new rule is to last one month. According to word received by the state food administrator, the new ruling will be effective for thirty days, after which a new allotment will be set by the national food administration. . It is estimated by the local food administration that a half million more pounds of sugar will be used during November, under the new regulation, than were consumed in October in the state under the quota of two pounds a month a person.' 'Under the new regulation the daily allowance for each person will be nine level teaspoonfuls. The public eating houses will be allowed more sugar for cooking and serving, under the new rule. Candy manufacturers will be permitted to increase their monthly allowance, it is reported in the official message. Utah has been on a two pound ration since August 1. Prior to that date the state wa3 restricted to the three-poun- d allowance. According t6 the message, the United States will continue to send sugar to the allies in Europe at the same rate as in the past. The Salt Lake Herald. e.
