Show : POSTHUMOUS Award made and Recently Mr. Mrs. L. T. Rose received a clipping taken from a San Diego Naval Air Station newspaper, and a picture showing Mrs. Margaret Rose receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross at the naval air base in San Diego for her husband, Garr L. Rose-wWasjkilled in action. Following is the inscription attached to the picture: With ceremony Capt. Geheres presented the Distinguished Flying Cross and Permanent Citation posthumously awarded to ,Garr L. Rose, A. R. M.lc, to Roses widow, Mrs. Margaret H. Rose of 69 National Avenue, Chula Vista, California. Circumstances surrounding the winning of the air medal were highlighted by Roses heroism and . extraordinary achievement in aerial flight as an air crew man in a Navy Patrol Bomber attached to VPB squadron 119 while in action against enemy ' Japanese forces in the forward Pacific combat area from January 1945. Garr was in the' Navy Air three and a half years andCorps had Completed the missions required by the Navy at the time of his death. ho ve e Hyrum 3-W- ard Gold and Green Ball Planned The activity counselors, dance instructors and managers of the three Hyrum wards met February 10 to draw up plans for the three ward Gold and Green ball to be held March 4 in the Elite Hall. The music will be furnished by Gilbert Thorpes orchestra. semi-forma- ' PRIMARY BOARD TO MEET Mrs. Melba Nielsen, president of the Stake Primary reports that the Primary Union meeting will be held Sunday at 1:30 p. m. in the Third ward chapel in Hyrum. All Primary officers and teachers are requested to be present. He was honored at the Wellsville tabernacle on Thursday even ing with a very fine testimonial Wellsville Holds Court of Honor A ' Business Buildng Sold in Hyrum The byilding occupied by the Vint Radio Shop and the South Cache Courier in Hyrum was purchased this week by Norman s. He plans to move his shoe shop into the building as soon as the Courier can vacate the west" side. The large crowd was made up mostly of Hyrum people and they enjoyed a floor show of old time dances by those in costume. Those who deserve credit for the outstanding event are Elton Olsen, recreation chairman, Virgil Atkinson, Cantril Nielsen, Clinton Andersen and Lorenzo Olsen. Old Folks Party at Wellsville The Wellsville Second ward Old Folks party and Ward Reunion will be held at their church house on Tuesday, February 18. The meeting will begin at 11 oclock with Chairman Oliver Bailey in charge Old Folks Parties Planned Being Old Folks and Ward Reunion parties are being planned as follows: Hyrum Third' ward on Thursday, February 27 with Wm.
