Carver netted a total of 1709.84 from all sources in Hyrum. The breakdown is as follows: Three wards, civic clubs and the Lincoln school turnedin $501.23. The high school, $52.65, and the dance .sponsored by the Lions Club and the City officials netted $153.00. The district chairmen were as follows: First ward, Melinda second ward, Larene Paul; third ward, Edna Nielsen; Lincoln school, Irma Nichols; South Cache High school, Louise Petersen. The list of ward workers was not Complete as presented to the Courier, and so will be pub lished next week. This will he followed hy a dance. f E Passes Away Scheduled February 9, Sunday, in the Hyrum First ward chapel will be held an unusual Boy Scout Court of Honor. It will be unusual because of the amount of high awards to be given. The parents and friends of the boys are urged to show their respect to the boys who have won these difficult attainments by their presence. Facer, well known and highly respected resident of Hyrum died February 2 at the family home in Hyrum. He was born iij Willard, Utah on June 10, 1886, a son of George and Sarah Facer. He married Myrtle Conyngham in the Salt Lake temple on May 1, 1888. She died September 6, 1906. Mr. Facer filled a church mission between the years 1898 and 1900. From 1904 to 1906 he served as Bishop in Avon, and then from 1907 to 1917 he served as Bishop o fthe Hyrum Third ward. He was a Cache County Commissioner between 1912 and 1918. Later he moved to Southern, Idaho and was Bishop of the North Pocatello ward from 1925 to 1927. On 8 NUMBER FEBRUARY 7, 1947 BEEF Court of Honor As a result of the many complaints received by the City Council in Hyrum in regard to dogs running loose in town, an amendment to the dog ordinance has been passed and is 'printed on page eight of this issue. In commenting on the amendment, Mayor Jorgensen stated that many had taken the law into their own hands and ihad poisoned dogs, undesirables and good dogs alike. He stated that any unlicens ed dog can be shot, and hoped that people would notify the marshall about their trouble with the dogs instead of putting out poison. All service men and married folks of the ward are invited with all over seventy years of age be- ing honored guests. Dinner will be served at 10 oclock and a program will be given at 2:30. In the evening there will be a dance and a special floor show. They are asking that every one who owns or can borrow an old time costume, please wear them to help carry out the Centennial theme.
