She was married last week to Bill Thompson of Los Angeles. She is a navy r urse pnd met her husband at the hospital on Treasure Island when he was a patient. Mrs. Thompson had the unusual good fortune to be selected as Queen For a Day on the well known radio program. The prizes and awards given her included a stay at the Frontier Hotel at Las Vegas where the couple were married; a trip to the Hawaiian Islands with a private limousine, yacht and plane awaiting their use while there and a tour of the islands with expenses paid. J. Christiansen of the Hyrum First ward were united in marriage in the Salt Lake temple on Thursday, June 27. Witnessing the impressive ceremony was Mrs. Roses sister, Mrs. Lillie Winger of Salt Lake City. Before returning home the couple visited at Pleasant Grove where they were the guests of Mrs. Christiansens son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Rose. Upon arriving home on Saturday evening members of the two families had prepared a delicious wedding dinner in compliment to the newly weds. The home waS profusely decorated with red and pink roses and the dinner table was centered with a lovely wedding cake. Pink lighted tapers graced the table ends. Many lovely presents were given them. On Tuesday evening in the Hyrum Second ward recreation hall friends of the couple planned a reception in their honor. The bride was presented with a beautiful corsage. The serving table was covered with a lace cloth and centered with a lovely white wedding cake. The evening was spent with a fine program and dancing. Refreshments were served to more than 100 neighbors, relatives, and friends. A beautiful set of silverware and other presents were received by the couple. Miss Marie Stauffer, daughter married on June 14 to Don Meikle the son f Mr. and Mrs. Henry Meikle. The wedding ceremony of Henry Stauffer of Hyrum was took place at the Logan LDS temple with sveral relatives witnessing the ceremony. Following the marriage a delicious wedding dinner was served to members of the Stauffer and Meikle families at he home of the brides parents in Hyrum. Twenty four relatives attended. The young couple left for a hon eymoon to the parks of Southern Utah and the Boulder dam. The young couple left Thurs day evening for a honeymoon to Southern Utah and returned on Edgar Allred, son of Mr. and John E. Allred of Hyrum was married to Miss Eula Johnson of North Logan on Thursday June 27th. The ceremony took place at the Logan LDS temple. Eula is the lovely daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.
