The family when all members are at home consists of the father, mother, and three children. At present one of the number is missing. In April, 1872, 1 was called to go on a mission to Great Britian. On the 1st of May following I bade my wife (we had no children) good-band, in company with several others, set out to preach the everlasting Gospel to those who sat in darkness. Soon after arriving in Liverpool I was appointed to labor in the conference. I was sitting alone in my room one Friday evening. My traveling companion had gone to visit a man who was investigating the principles of the Gospel, and I had remained behind to write letters and attend to other business. I felt suddenly impressed to go out and hold a meeting at one of the street corners. I trembled at the thought, for while I had pretty good understanding of the first principles of the Gospel, I did not feel fully qualified to expound those principles to others. While pondering in my mind as to what I should do, I was reminded of the Prophet Moses, who, when the times? Yet that is what we have Lord called him to go and deliver done to this man tonight.
