Cancer, In its early stages, with few exceptions, is not painful. One of the exceptions Is bone cancer. Any lump, swelling or open sore that does not heal should be looked on with suspicion, particularly if there is no pain 'associated it. Persistent bleeding from any of the body cavities also should cause a person to see his doctor. In its early stages Cancer is always a localized, microscopic disease, and usually it remains localized for some time. Sooner or later, however, Cancer cells may break away and spread through the lymph or blood streams, or both, to form can- cers in other parts of tl e body.
