C. student paper, has been imitating the Boston Post, in offering prizes for news. The prizes differed in that the "Post gave a Ford car while the Student Life gives a book. The honor of winning the first book given in the Nose for News contest went to Geneve Ensign, who wrote an article entitled The Miss Ensign Football Missionary. received Hutchinsons latest book, Wendell Thain Their Freedom. received the second book given in the contest, with an article on a student who suddenly found out that he had a string of 12 nephews and nieces attending eollege. Mr. Thain received The Autobiography of Andrew Carnegie for his efforts. Third book went to Henrietta Bott, from Brigham City, who wrote an article entitled Selling the U. A. C. .The book she received is entitled An Anthology of Verse. Miss Bott is a sophomore and spends her spare time in the stenographic Rue L. Clegg was department. handed Captain Blood as the prize of the fourth week in the Mr. contest. nose for news Clegg hails from Heber City and lives at the Phi Kap House while attending college. Because of the exceptional qual? ity of articles received at Student Lifes office this week the contest will be continued for two more weeks. The contest is open to all students at the college. Dr. W. L. Wanlass Presents Fraternity With Scholarship Cup Dr. W. L. Wanlass, Dean of the School of Commerce and Business . Administration at the Utah Agricultural College, and formerly of Lehi, ' has just made the first presentation of the Wanlass Gup given to the fraternity at the College having the highest average grades for last year. A fraternity must win the cup three successive years in order to obtain it permanently. This is the first year it has been given and was won by the Delta Nu Fraternity, who maintained an average of 83 per cent. December Clearing Sale AT Three Rules Store The University of Utah football team clinehed the Rocky Mountain Conference championship by its 14-- 0 victory over the Utah Agricultural College team here on Thanksgiving day. The game was played on Cummings field at the University. It was estimated that 10,000 people, from all over the State, watched the game, which was a decisive one in tha race for the championship. This game ends the most successful football season that the University has ever known. It is the first time in Utah footfall history that she has held an undisputed Rocky Mountain championship. The Rocky Mountain1 Conference is comprised of representative colleges in the states of Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, and Montana. This i9 the second successive year that the championship has been held in the state.
