Gonder Kevin E Gonder, age 46, of Baker, Nev. passed away Monday, December 11 in Provo from complications due to lung surgery. Kevin was born on June 11, 1960 in Salt Lake City to Emerson Wayne and Daisy Eldridge Gonder of then Garrison, Utah. Kevin attended Delta High School before returning to Baker where he and his father formed Gonder Trucking. Over the years, Kevin hauled freight to California for Fred Anderson, was a driller’s helper for the water system within Grand Canyon National Park and hauled cows for Tolbert’s Delta Livestock Auction. He hauled gravel, asphalt and coal for Scott Anderson Trucking out of Salina. Operated all types of mining machinery for Taylor Mining up Weaver Creek. He hauled hay for Johnson’s Feedlot, stone for Moriah Stone and cows, cement and hay for Baker Ranches. Kevin was a member of the Baker Volunteer Fire Department and served as its chief fireman for a period of time. Kevin was a cofounder of the annual turkey shoot fundraiser and a member of the Snake Valley Reunion Committee. He loved his boys (horses), his dogs, dancing and going camping with his family. Kevin is survived by his wife, Dawn Gonder; his children, Joseph and Sarah Gonder; Mollie Gonder; and stepdaughter, Kassie Pence; his mother, Daisy Gonder of Baker, Nev.; and sister, Kathleen Gonder of Montrose, Colo. His father, Emerson Gonder, passed away in March, 2006. We’ll make this Kevin E. Gonder Services were held Saturday, Dec. 16 at the Baker Hall, Baker, Nev. Interment was at the Eldridge-Blackhorse Cemetery, Blackhorse, Nev. under the direction of Nickle Mortuary of Delta. HARD andFAST!!! sanpetemessenger.com Dahl Walter Stanford Dahl Walter Stanford, 65, passed away on Nov. 20 after a long battle with multiple sclerosis at Heritage Hills Care Center in Nephi. He was born May 19, 1941 in Oakland, Calif. to Clarence Walter Stanford and Iyla Madge McDonald. He married Jacqueline Luton. They were later divorced. He spent most of his life living in Livermore, Calif. His favorite sport was riding his dirt bike at Carnegie Park until he could no longer do so. He finally moved to Manti and lived in the Manti Senior Apartments until October 2006 when he moved to Heritage Hills Care Center in Nephi for a short time. Dahl had many friends in Manti and was loved by all who knew him. Even though he was confined to a wheelchair he managed to spend as much time as he could riding his ATV in the hills around Manti and any other place someone would take him to ride. He also loved to camp and go on trips researching the areas around Southern Utah. He was a very upbeat person and loved to visit with friends and anyone who would spend time with him. He is survived by his children, Gregg Stanford, Livermore, Calif.; and Donna Rozynski, Turlock, Calif.; and a sister, Patricia Henry, Houston, Tex.; and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Madge Stanford. Dahl requested that his remains be sent back to California, so there will be no funeral or graveside services. Sue Beus and his children would like to express their thanks and appreciation to Gunnison Valley Home Care and Hospice, Nephi Hospital, Heritage Hills Care Center and for the many friends who helped care for him over the years with their loving and compassionate service.
