Show Wednesday, April 12, 2006 A9 Sanpete Messenger Gunnison Valley Edition P^rty Ira, CENTERFOLD—About 75 seniors from the Centerfield and Axtell areas gathered Saturday for the annual all-day Centerfield Old Folks Party. The event opened with a ceremony honoring Fran and Ira Nielson. Family members read tributes describing how the Nielson's brought together children from two marriages into a harmonious family. Family members also got to "roast" mom and dad, and told humorous as well as inspiring stories about growing up in a cattle family. During a luncheon and between entertainment events, participants visited with friends, m.any of whom came from outside the area. All three were raised on 200 North in Centerfield, which was once known as "Kid Alley" because nearly 90 children lived on the street.
