Donald was born July 1928 in Fayette to Anton and Dora Helen Louise Bjerregaard Rigby 92 passed away Dec 2 2004 Born in Ephraim May 11 9 2 to Amelia Jensen and Christian Bjerregaard Flelen lived her entire life just blocks away from the house where she was born Helen loved Ephraim and with her husband Alvin gave of herself for Andreasen-Li- m May Olsen Donald proudly carried the title of Veteran having served in the US Army during the Korean War He dedicated 18 years of his life to Northland Pioneer College Ephraim and its citizens Helen and AI formed the Ephraim Senior Citizens Program which they directed for over 10 years and were instrumental in the building of Ephraim’s Senior Center Helen was recognized for her service to Ephraim by then Governor Matheson but always took the most satisfaction from organizing meaningful programs for the seniors McKay and Sherron Andrcasen along with Henry and Lim are happy to Evangeline announce the wedding of their children Amy and Edward They will he married in the Manti Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Saints on Saturday Dec 18 2(X)4 Amy is a pathologist and works at an early intervention clinic while Edward is an aerospace died Dec Bartho2004 in He was horn to William f ranci' and Ida Lorena Larsen Bartholomew on Dec 19 1908 in Monroe He married Eleanor Moore on June 12 1940 in the Manti Utah Temple They have 6 children: Ann (Dale) Hull of Orem Joyce (Don) Stovall of Fremont CA Carol (Alen) Hunter of DcLand L Paul of (Loanne) Raleigh NC Marcia (Tom) CJandolph of Raleigh NC and John (Holly) of Orcin UT They have 38 grandchildren and 45 Orem Having lived through most of the 20th century Helen rode the changing times with keen interest She thrived on the daily news from around the world but was more terested in the goings on about Ephraim and Sanpete County Helen raised her family in the wake of the great depression cookfor the miners at Alvin’s coal ing mine in Fairview Canyon while at the same time seeing that her children were educated arid well trained in the piano and other musical instruments During World War II Helen worked at the parachute factory in Manti As a girl she attended the school that eventually became Snow College and briefly studied to become a nurse lelen loved music the theater and the arts Her last job was as a docent at the Central Utah Arts Center in Ephraim where she worked even after turning 90 lelen saw a lot of the world visiting around the country and to Panama while her son Nate was in the military She was equally comfortable in a big city or in her cabin at the mine but was always thankful to return home to Ephraim lelen’s greatest love was her family Helen was married to Alvin L Rigby They raised a daughter Dawn Rae and a son Nathan AZ and seven years in Holbrook at various educational facilities on the Navajo Reservation He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Saints and over the years Helen was the proud grandmother and nine to five grandchildren Alvin and Dawn Rae preceded Helen in death as did her brotheis Ray Ralph and Harris: and her sister Nellie Helen is survived by her by her son Nathan (Lynn) of Hinckley CA grandsons Mitch Seattle WA Mike (Shannon) Matthew Lake Park FT Scott Cheney (Mary) Centerville and by a granddaughter Taya Johnson (Alan) of Portland OR Helen had a talent for befriending people at times when they most needed a friend She enjoyed the close association of many gixxl and caring friends and the bittersweet blessing of outliving most of them She attributed her longevity to a diet rich in butter and a healthy sense of humor Despite several bodily breakdowns in the last several years Helen's mind remained keen and her sense of humor sharp She was until the end an avid Utah Jazz fan and an outspoken promoter of Ephraim and all things Snow College At the time of her death lelen lived at the Inn at Barton Creek in Bountiful where she had several close Iriends and the kind help of a wonderful support staff She was happy at Barton Creek Her family is grateful for the friendship and care lelen received there Funeral services will be held ut noon today in the Ephraim Seventh Ward chapel fiends may call on the family beginning at Michael Jay lam Squire (Mike) Michael Jay Squire (Mike) passed away Dec 5 2004 in Ely Nevada following a tragic mining accident He was bom Aug 11 1973 to Gaylen and Kathy Baxter Squire He married Marlena Sandoval Nov 7 1998 Michael grew up in Manti and after graduating from high school moved to Fly Nevada He was a very man kind and compassionate toward others His family members were the love of his life He loved the mountains hunting and fishing He is survived by his wife Marlena son Colton four years old parents Gaylen and University with a masters and a PhD in soil microbiology I le served during WW II on the Emergency Rubber Project and witfi the Bureau of Plant dustry in Washington DC I le was a professor of agronomy at Iowa State University North Carolina State University and the University of Ibadan in Nigeria He guided graduate students from all over the world conducted research in nitiogen fixation served in and led professional societies and traveled the Iowa State world representing University North Carolina State University and the United States government He set ved as a consultant to commercial companies and government agencies both domestic and foreign He was known in professional circles as “Mr Ni- trogen” le authored or more than 70 scientific papers plus numerous articles for profes sional magazines Victor loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and served in The Church of Jesus Christ of Saints all his life He was a missionary in the Eastern States Mission a district president during his mission and in the West Iowa District and the Raleigh NC restrict He served for years as the first president of the Raleigh NC Slake He also served as a patriarch in the Raleigh NC and Salem UT stakes He was a temple worker in the Washington DC and Provo Temples With his wife Elcanor he served as church special representatives in the Nigeria Lagos Mission He lived by and taught the
