Gunnison scored two more times during the first half of the lead second quarter for a Jackson said his team got too with the lead and comfortable which allowed North relaxed Sevier to score then force a fumble off a good defensive play and score again eight seconds later Gunnison lost control of their discipline toward the end of the second and moved the ball downfield for the Wolves by committing three penalties which gave North Sevier 45 yards Jackson said that the penalties were the result of playing too aggressively “There’s no need to be headhunting” Jackson said of the penalties “That 45 yards is going to help anybody’s drive” The penalties set up a touchdown reception by North Sevier running back Levi Roundy Jackson said that the defining moment of the game came when Gunnison took the opening possession of the second half and sustained a drive that took over five minutes off the clock and resulted in a score “That drive which was the better team” Jackson said The Gunnison defense shut out North Sevier for the rest of the game “We were much better” said Jackson of his team’s performance “The kids were where they were supposed to be and and when you played hard have that good things happen” Despite an outstanding defensive effort Jackson seems to think there’s still work to do “Defensively we’re on the brink of really getting good” But the real tests for a blossoming Gunnison team are still in store The Bulldogs’ next game is which was a against Richfield tough team last year “They handed our head to us last year” said Jackson and reported that the team is going to have to play just as well if not better than last week and “not give up any big plays” against them Jackson said that his special teams did well against North Sevier They only missed two extra points and were able to turn a fumbled snap on one of them He into a conversion feels that special teams will have to perform just as well against Richfield “We spent a lot of time last week on special teams and we’ll spend more You can never be too good on special teams Against two equal teams a lot of times extra points decide it” VICTIM Snow College is accepting applications for a
