Branham, son of Robert and Jeanette Branham of Ephraim, has accepted a call to serve in the Vina del Mar Chile Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He will report to the Provo Missionary Training Center on Sept. 12, 2007. He will speak in the Ephraim 2nd Ward sacrament meeting on Sunday, Sept. 9, at 11 a.m. The Ephraim Stake Center is located at 400 E. Center Street. Colleen Young Stilwell Colleen Young Stilwell, the daughter of Sydney and Annette Young, died Aug. 28, 2007 in Salt Lake City, after a long illness. She was surrounded by her family. Colleen was born in Denver, Colo., Nov. 10, 1968. Colleen lived with her parents in Leadville, Canon City, Colorado Springs, and Craig, Colo.. She moved to Lehi, Utah in 1987. She married David Stilwell Aug. 11, 1990. Colleen received her high school diploma from UVSC and was attending classes there. She was an accomplished piano player and enjoyed classical music. Colleen is survived by her sons Bryce Davis and Garrett; parents; Brothers John (Kim), David (Ronna), Edmund (Jana Lee), Karl (Tracy); and Sister, Miriam Goodwin. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Paige Heidi. Colleen loved her boys and their activities. She loved history and wanted to become a teacher. All but $1,000 of that came from the Office of Museum Services, an arm of the Utah Department of Community and Culture’s Division of Arts and Museums. The museum services office, on Aug. 16, announced that $14,680 would go to museums in three different Sanpete cities as part of the 2007 Project Support Grant awards. $11,080 will go to the Central Utah Art Center in Ephraim for equipment upgrades, and for advertising and marketing. $2,600 will go to the Mt. Pleasant Pioneer Museum to help refinish the museum’s computer room. And $1,000 will go to the Patten House in Manti, operated by the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. That money will be used for renovation of the building. The DUP also received $1,000 from Ephraim’s WalMart as part of the company’s community-grant program. That money, too, will be used toward renovations on the Patten House. Planned renovations for the Patten House, says Manti DUP vice president Darlene Blackham, are the installation of new doors and the patching and restoration of rockwork in the basement and on the exterior of the building. Brady has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
