Tlif Kouilwill not Discrim inat against lCpliraira. Oa Wednesday about noon, a special came clown with Supt. Welby, Koadmaster Lee ami several other gentlemen on board. A Regis ikk reporter was promptly on hand to interview the jentleaiea.and learn all that was possible concerning depot fur Ephraitii and other mat-ters. After the usual salutations the reporter said; "llow about our Depot, Mr. Welby?"to which he an-swered. "Plans are now being made for a Depot at 1'phraim, ami as soon as the ground is dry enough we .shall commence work on the building. You know Manti is at present the terminal point of the road, and required depot facilities worse than Lphraim, else this point would have had tho first one." Reporter. "The People of Kph raim did not object to Manti having their Depot built first, as we reali.ed that we had buildings that could he useil for depot purposes for the present, and Manti had no conven-iences, but the p.ople want a depot now; in fact, Mr. Welby we do not want to be discriminated against in connection with our neighbors Jt. Pleasant and Manti " Sup'r. Wei.my. "You shall not be. The plans gives you a very pretty depot, bu not quite so large as Manti's on account, as before said, that Manti has been a termin-al for a time. Your business I see is greater for this month than Mt. Pleasant by nearly one half. Mt. Pleasant has only done 1500 this month, and your business is nearly double that." Reporter: "How about a time card, Mr. Welby?" Supt. Weluy: "We shall give you a good time card, which will enable you to travel in day time. We are having a mail car fitted up now, ready to commence the mail service. As soon as there is enough business we shall put on two trains a day, but there is aot sufficient to justify it aoi. Sorce days we have too much for one traia atd at other times we have, net enough business for one." After extending a cordial inviation to the reporter to go over to Manti with them, Mr. Welby bid the gentlemen who were there good day and the train rolled out on its way to the Temple City. During the above conversation the road master and also the Supt. of Depot buildings were looking over the depot grounds taking notes. After the train had left the report-er got these figures from agent' Clossin. Passenger business for the past week, 305. 71. Entire busi-ness for March $1335.82 against Mt.
