Show n oeta Thine ! t There is rjch a thing1 as carrymp economy even beyond the border of parsimony. Hera is a ease we vouch for as actually occurring, we will not say where. Three years ago a certain person purchased as a Christmas gift for his daughter a little chair, painted red. In 1889 he had the chair painted blue and gave it to her as a braud new Christmas gift. Last year he had the same chair gilded, and worked it off again as a Christmas gift on his innocent and helpless child. In a very poor household such an inci-dent wouid be pathetic. But this father is by no means a poor man. Buffalo Commercial. Dr. S. A. Latlimore, one of the an-alysts of the State Board of Health. 4l 'Yes, sir." 'What did this analysis show you?" "A serious disease of the kidneys.'' Did you think Mr. Warner could recover?'' Xo, sir, I did not think it poss-ible." 'Do you know anything- about the remedy which cured him?" I have chemically analyzed it and find it pure and harmless." The standing of Dr. Henion, Mr. Warner and Dr. Lattimore in this community is beyond question, and the statements they make cannot for a mo-ment be disputed. Dr. llenlon's expe-rience shows that Bright disease of the kidneys is one of the most decep-tive and dangerous of all diseases, that it is exceedingly common, but that it can be curea if taken in time. EXCITEMENT IN ROCHESTER. The Commotion Canard by the Mate-lur-nt of a I'tayalclan. An unusual article from the Roches-ter, X. Y., Democrat and Chronicle, was recently republished in this paper and was a subject of much comment. That the article caused even more commotion in Rochester, the following from the same paper shows: Dr. J. B. Henion, who is well-know- n not only in Rochester, but in nearly every part of America, sent an ex-tended article to this paper, a few days since, which was duly published, de-tailing his remarkable experience and rescue from what seemed to be certain death. It would be impossible to enumerate the personal inquiries which have been made at our office as to the viridity of the article, but they have been so numerous that further investi-gation of the subject was deemed neces-sary. With this end in view a representa-tive of this paper called on Dr, Hen-ion, at his residence, when the follow-ing interview occurred: "That article of yours. Doctor, has created quite a whirlwind. Are the statements about the terrible condition you were in, and the way you were rescued such as you can sustain?" "Every one of them and many addi-tional ones. I was brought so low by neglecting the first and most simple symptoms. I did not think I was sick. It is true I had frequent head-aches; felt tired most of the timejcould eat nothing one day and was ravenous the next; felt dull pains and my stom-ach was out of order, but I did not think it meant anything serious. "The medical profession has been treating symptoms instead of diseases for years, and it is high time it ceased. The symptoms I have just mentioned or any unusual action or irritation of the water channels indicate the ap-proach of kidney disease more than a cough announces the coming of con-sumption. We do not treat the cough, but try to help the lungs. We should not waste our time trying to relieve the headache, pains about the body or other symptoms, but go directly to the kidneys, the source of most of these ailments. 'This, then, is what you meant when you said that more than one-ha- lf the deaths which occur arise from Bright's disease, is it, Doctor?" precisely. Thousands of diseases are torturing people today, which in reality are Bright's disease in some of its many forms. It is a Hydra-heade- d monster, and the slightest symptoms should strike teVror to every one who has them. I can look back and recall hun-dreds of deaths which physicians de-clared at the time were caused by pa-ralysis, apoplexy, heart disease, pneu-monia, malarial fever and other com-mon complaints which I seo now were caused by Bright's disease." "And die? all these cases have simple symptoms at first?" Every one of them, and might have been cured as I was by the timely use of the same remedy. I am getting my eyes thoroughly opened in this matter and think I am helping others to Bee the facts and their possible danjrer also." Mr. Warner, who was visited at hia establishment on N St. Paul street, spoke very earnestly: It ia true that Bright's disease had increased wonderfully, and we find, by reliable statistics, that from '70 to '80 its growth 'was over 250 per cent. Look at the prominent men it has car-ried off, and is taking every year, for while many are dying apparently from paralysis and apoplexy, they are really victims of kidney disorder, which cause heart disease, paralysis, apo-plexy, etc. Nearly every week the papers record the death of some prom-inent man from this scourge. Kecent-l- y, however, the increase has been checked and I attribute this to the general use of my remedy." "Do you think many people are af-flicted with it to-da- y who do not real-ize it, Mr. Warner?" "A prominent professor in a New Orleans medical college was lecturing before his class on the subject of Bright's disease. He had various flu-ids under microscopic analysis and was showing the students what the indica-tions of this terrible malady were. 'And now, gentlemen,' he said, as we have seen the unhealthy indications, I will show you how it appears in astate of perfect health,' and he submitted his own fluid to the usual test. As he watched the results his countenance suddenly changed his color and com-mand both left him and in a trembling voice he said: 'Gentlemen I have made a painful discovery; I have Bright's disease of the kidneys;' and in less than a year he was dead. The slightest of any kidney difficulty should be enough to strike terror to any one." You know of Dr. Henion's case?" "Yes, I have both read and heard of it." "It is very wonderful, is it not?" "No more so than a great many oth-ers that have come to my notice as having been cured by the same means." ' 'You believe then that Bright's dis-ease can be cured." "I know it can. I know it from my own and the experience of thousands of prominent persons who were given up to die by both their physicians and friends." "You Speak of your own experience, what was it?" "A fearful one. I had felt languid and unfitted for business for years. But I did not know what ailed me. When, however, I found it was kidney difficulty I thought there was little hope and so did the doctors. I have since learned that one of the physi-cians of this city pointed me out to a gentleman on the street one day, say-ing: ;There goes a man who will be dead within a year.' I believe his words would have proved true if I had not fortunately used the remedy now known as Warner's Safe Cure." "Did you make a chemical analysis of tha case of Mr. II. H. Every once in a while we read In some northern paper, a descriptive letter from some American in Mexico, giving a lurid account of some bull fights which the exiled correspondent has witnessed. A Mexican bull fijjht is one of the institutions of that coun-try. There is a great deal of show, noise and clamor, but very little fight-ing or danger, reminding one of the revolutions that used to prevail in Mexico some years ngo. There is really very little danger in a bull fight There is more absolute peril in light-ing a kerosene lamp, or calling a po-liceman a liar, than there is in a dozen bull fights. The bull fight takes place in an amphitheatre built for that pur-pose. It will hold a groat many peo-ple, probably more than can get into it, iu which respect it seems to resem-ble an American streetcar, A board fence separates th6 audience from the arena, and is so armnged that if the bull should undertake to overtake some bold matador, the latter can climb up to a place of safety, where the bull couldn't reach him with aten-fo- pole. The exalted position enables the bull fighter to show his contempt for dan-ger, and he makes a liberal use of his opportunities. The bull fighters aro mar-velo-objects to look at. Solomon in nil his glory was never arrayed so gloriously. They are dressed in all the colors of the rainbow, are very prone to take water. When dressed up in their toggery, they hear a whim-sical resemblance to the face cards. It is really amusing to see the Jack of Diamonds and the King of Hearts, and all the rest of the male members of the pack, that are familiar to most read-ers, prancing atout the arena. Bull fighting in Mexico might be-come dangerous if the bulls wore given a fair show; for occasionally an animal can be found that has a griev-ance, and is really anxious to lift a Mexican into the next world. But as a general thing, the bulls are almost as cowardly as their tormentors. The Mexicans have a way of discouraging that really does credit to thoir Before the bull is presented with the freedom of the arena, several inches of his horns are sawed off down to the very quick, which operation makes the end of the bull's horns as sensitive as a ripe boil on a human being, i Now, the last thing in the world that the animal is going to do with his sore horns is to bump them against anything whatever. There- - a """""TOWr'the bull develops an almost hu-man intelligence in keeping out of the way of the heroic bull fighter. A man with a large sized boil on his person does not go about trying to bump it against people, nod the tender-horne- d bull has pretty much the same way of thinking. Projjreaa. Snakei and Wild leasts in India. The government of India appear to be at variance with experts like Mr. Yldal on the question of the feasibility of the "stamping: out" process as ap-plied to the snakes which annually exact so large a tribute of human life in that country. Tha significant fact is that in spite of the large number destroyed every year under the stimu-lus of the government reward no perceptiblo impression is made upon this terrible scourge. In eleven years the annual average of deaths by snake bite has been 20,000. The opin-ion of the government appears to be that the snake contest is not to bo carried on in the jungle, where these reptiles do little harm, but in the vil-lages, where they find cover in heaps of refuse. Compared with snakes the most formidable of mau-eatin- g ani-mals are unimportant The total number of human beings killed by wild animals in ten years is under 30,-00- 0, while the number of wild beasts slain for that period is nearly 1GC.000. including 17,885 tigers, 44,464 leopards, and 61,404 wolves. It will be seen that in this war of extermina- - tion man has considerably the best of it Unfortunately, here, as in the case of snakes, the rewards produce little impression on numbers. Four-teen and a half lakhs of rupees have been paid during the last ten years without resulting in any diminution whatever in the loss of life caused by the larger carnivora. What is "Doititnte."
