Jazz player to appear JulyUtah30 Jazz A member ofthe basketball team is scheduled to make an appearance at the Monticello Elementary School gym on Tuesday, July 30 at 4:30 p.m. The appearance of the Jazz player is a part of Monticellos participation in the Jr. Jazz program. Everyone is invited to attend. The Jazz player will give a free clinic and will be available to sign autographs. Little League tourneys next Little league baseball players from throughout the area are preparing for state tournaments July 29 through August 1 in Utah Valley. In Mustang League tournaments, the Blanding Phillies will play in Pleasant Grove under Coach Jeff Nielson. Bayles jumped to a 0 lead 'V f 7-- early in the championship game but could not hold on and the Pirates went on to win. Three teams from Monticello played, including Sierra Petroleum, Farm Bureau and the Black Socks. Two teams from Blanding took part, including Bayles and Northern Electric. One team from Moab, three teams from Farmington, NM and three from northern Utah rounded out the field. ,1 i 4 (l-- r) Hideout mens golf league results At the mens golf league at the Hideout on July 16, the low gross score was turned in by David Ivins, who shot a 36. Tied in second place at 39 are Craig Leavitt, Doug Pehrson, Tony Wojcik and JL Thornton. Low net score was by Jeremy Redd, followed by Bill Boyle, Brian Boyd and Lynn Adams. Boyd won a skin on j 3, Larry i VanRcenen on 4, David Ivins on 8 and Dell Hunter on 7. Closest to the pin was Boyd on 3 and Bruce Adams on 7. The coed softball season comes to a culmination when the teams have a championship tournament on Wednesday, July 24. The following night, Thursday, July 25, the mens fast pitch league will hold their season ending tournament.
