Bruce Shumway brought her from Mexican Hat last week. She was born at Douglas Mess, but has lived in the San Juan area for most of her life. She is recovering from the effects bf a broken leg that hasn't knit correctly, and is deformed and out of shape. She is unable to walk without the help of the Nurses. She is also suffering from serious bed sores but is improving very much in the week she has been in the home. Mrs. Rock loves to weave baskets, and when asked her favorite food, she replied "try bread and mutton" She is very thin, and the cooks are having a hard time getting her filled up. Wanda has only one eye, and is quite grey. She is purported to be 74 years of age. She is quite but is responding to the kindness she wn her by the nur.es and visitors. Eleven members of the home were in attendance at Relief Society, Monday evening. Four of them were men, and seem to enjoy the rmuic especially. They can understand that without knowing the English Language. Mrsu Dorothy Nielson gave an information lesson on the works of Joseph Smith, and Shan solo. a Shumway played piano of Mrs. Edna Black, President the second Ward Relief Society was in charge. The different holiday occasion are observed at the Home by lovely decorations made by the different classes of the Third Ward Mutual. Valentine decorations were under the direction of Lila Palmer and her Mutual class of girls. Shirley Palmer and her group of girls made beautiful pictures of turkeys and little pilgrims and placed them on the window and walls in the dining room and around the nursing office. Chloe Ann Shumway and her girls did a beautiful job for the Christmas holidays, and arr- The future State Class basketball champions left for the State tournament Tuesday morning.
