The only tax from which state chartered credit unions are exempt is corporate tax. We pay payroll taxes, property taxes, personal property taxes, and state sales tax. Federally chartered credit unions pay credit unions are behind payroll taxes, property taxes, and personal property taxes. Credit unions are a cooperative effort in which the member votes and no stocks are involved. We stand united as small, medium, and large credit unions in our efforts to them. WE ARE NOT. Utahns for Fair Taxation serve our members and we support the citizens of Utah to are not representing those that they attempt to mislead the public about. It is obvious they do not represent credit unions as they speak of customers and not about a choice for services they require in meeting their financial needs. I am proud to be a part of the credit union movement. I know that it was a credit union that took me in when banks refused my business. We ask that banks give credit unions the privilege of serving our members needs wherever that member may Dear Editor: As president of a small credit union, I feel the need to speak out. There has been many ads in the various me- dia that sound like small MEMBERS. They use words that make one nervous - predatory behavior. They cry for fair growth and expansion while not giving the full picture of what is really happening. They try to assure the small and medium sized credit unions that their complaint is just with the four large ones. Have you ever found any legislation that affects only part of a group or temporary legislation? What would regulate the banks, which have over 88 of the market, if there was no competition for them?
