Show death takes one of first utah setler sellers S harold A taylor pioneer P rmon areval and fa 1 t faier i eer of L L taylor succumbs at home homa of daughter grand junction sentinel one of the first mormon settlers that came into utah and ofie of the most colorful figures in eastern utah harold A taylor died early yesterday at the home of a daughter in moab he was 86 years of age at the time of his death services were held at 2 monday afternoon at the L D S church with bishop W R mcconkie in charge and a half brother elmer S taylor of kirtland N mexico assisting aring enrin g his long life mr taylor thyn in political and chiv idl feairs and also was widely known as a cattleman and sheep man he had been ill for the past six years and was confined to his room for more than three years A son loren L taylor is widely known in this region and is the publisher of the moab times independent he is also survived by a son claud taylor in fruita a daughter mrs helen M knight at whose home he died mrs lydia arthur A taylor jr both of salt lake city ruel J taylor of sacramento calif 24 grandchildren and five great grandchildren mr taylor was born in san bernadino calif aug 27 1852 the son of norman and sena taylor while ehll a small toy loy mr taylor with his father and mother arrived in salt lake valley in 1879 and they were among the first settlers setlers as in that district shortly thereafter they returned to california and remained there until 1881 when they returned to utah and entered the valley where moab now stands since that time they have made their home in moab on may 30 1881 mr taylor married sena jensen at little salt creek utah |
