Eddie Bryant, former owner of the station for th6 past two years, has given up the station because of a recent illness. Bill had been employed at the Gulf Service Station fair two years prior to becoming manager. The Station will continue in operation, with the same friendly service and will specialize in car washing and lubricating jobs and oil plus the regular gas business. Mr. Maples invites all of the present customers to continue with him, and hopes that new ones wil come in and get ac- quainted. HOME FROM SERVICE Mr. and Mrs. Merle Deremo arrived in Dove Creek last week from Scott Air Force Base in Illnois. Merl has been relieved from active duty and placed in the Air Force Reserves. Mrs. Dererro spent the week visiting in Farmington, N. M., with her sister, Mrs. Roy High. Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Caughran reutrned Saturday from a two week fishing trip to the Gulf of California. Mr. H. County Clerk Society For Crippled Children Meets A meeting Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. David Corlett of the Dolores County Children Society for Crippled and Adults discussed the returns of the Easter Seal sale in this county. To date $204.00 has been received by the committee foi this sale. The committee was notified that a meeting of the phyiscal therapy board will be held Monday evening, April 27 in Durango. The board, will discuss hiring a full time, physical therapist for the basin with at least one day a week at Cortez. Also a discussion will be held on moving the center from the court house to the Com- munity hospital. Mr. Logan will address a meeting in Cortez in the forenoon of Sunday, May 3, and then come to Dove Creek for an evening engagement. While in the Basin area he will address several high school assemblies. The main emphasis in all these meetings will be education in the harmful effects of the use of alcohol and naracotics. Cancer Benefit Dance Planned A dance will be given May 2 at the Memorial Hall in Dove Creek for the benefit of the Dolores County Cancer Society.
