The maga- zine is one of the largest financial business publications in the world and is read by 8 million people monthly. In Money's April issue the writers picked 10 perfect places in North America to spend your summer holiday". One of the names on the list was Heber Valley, Utah, giving more than 12 page to Heber Valley, Money called the valley an alpine hideaway. The local Economic Development Director attributes Heber Valleys thrust into the national limelight to the 2002 Winter Wasatch Wave Olympics. Juab commissioners want PILT money SAN JUAN BUILDING SUPPLY 1050 South Main St Juab County Commissioners want Payment in Lieu of Taxes money to keep coming to Juab County. Commissioners are asking Nephi - Congress to fully fund the PILT program authorizing approximately $335 million annually. In fear of losing the funds, commissioners agreed to send a letter to all the Utah Congressional delegation. In addition, the letter will be sent to committee members sitting on any finance or rules committee which may have a vote on the final outcome on PILT money. Blanding 678-200- 0 felue Mountain Cinema Gap in teacher and administrator salaries Teachers in the South Sanpete School District earn less and there is a bigger gap between their pay and administrators pay than in comparable districts. Figures supplied by the district show that the base salary for the highest paid teacher in the district, a teacher who has a doctorate, is $45,591. Comparing teacher and administrator salaries, the highest Sanpete teacher makes $.75 for every dollar paid to director level administrators such as the special education director or vocational director. When the top teacher salaries compared to the superintendent's salary, the difference is bigger in South Sanpete than Messenger Enterprise any other district. For the past two months, the Grand County Board of Education has come under increasing scrutiny from a number of parents who challenged the district to raise the quality of education in Moab. One hoard member has taken considerable heat for his defense of the districts current standards. The board president said some parents dont want to raise the bar, they are struggling simply to survive and get their kids to graduation.
