The lady was found about two hours after the search began by Patrol Commander Max Black and Deputy Stanard. She was in good condition but cold and weary after a fifteen mile hike through the snow drifts over the mountain road between Blanding and Monticdb. Mr, and Mrs. George Goble from New Jersey were on a sight seeing trip when their car became stuck in the mud. They stayed with the car all night, then about 7 a. m. Mrs. Goble started to walk for help. She said that on her map, it looked as if the Blue Mountain Ski Lodge was the closest place to get help. She stayed on the road and kept walking until almost dark when she decided :o spend the night. She was sitting on a log when the men found her. Mrs. Goble said she Was really afraid to answer Ivhen she first heard them call to her because she had been LET US ? seeing "houses on the trees" earlier and she thought the men might be a mirage. A passing motorist pulled the car out of the mud and Mr. Goble notified authorities about 5:30 p. m. of his wife's walk for help. Since Sheriff Rusty Musselman was out of town on business, Deputy Stanard called out the Patrol and the search was over by 7:30 p. m. Men were dispatched from both ends of the mountain road and Mr. Goble went with the group from Blanding. He was with Deputy John Dufur and heard the report on the rescue radio. The new radio equipment in the Sheriff's office and the patrol units was a big factor in coordinating the efforts.
