Many Monticellans dont retire too early as was evidenced at 9 p.m. Wednesday when the fire siren blew. Word got out that the fire was at the Dairy Queen, which was lucky, for most of the 100 cars of fire followers drove that way and left room for the fire department to get to the New Mexico car reported on fire by the City Mercantile building. No community enterprise gets quite as large a turnout as a fire, but citizens should remember there is only so much parking space around most fire. There really should be room for the fire engine. Why not wait and read about it in the Record! Vandals break window at school building Vandals entered the Monticello High School building last weekend by crawling over a fence and breaking out the glass of a door on the west side of the shop. With the exception of the broken window, no monetary damage was evident, but two bicycles left inside the building were ridden around inside and left outside in the schoolyard. A Cortez, woman, Mrs. Raymond Jackson, was injured Sunday afternoon when the car in which she was riding overturned on the Eastland road. The car driven by her husband Raymond was towing another car when the accident occurred. Mr. Jackson and the couples two children escaped injury. Fact sheets published for tourists The Monticello, Bluff and Mexican Hat fact sheets are off the press and ready to be distributed to the number of tourists in this area. The fact sheets were published by the San Juan County Tourist and Publicity Council and will be placed at the disposal of all businesses having access to the traveling public. The Monticello fact sheet gives a brief rundown of the towns history and lists the scenic attractions within easy driving distance. Recreation facilities are also stressed. Bluff listed the lodgings, cafes, stores, and stations, laundry churches and names the scenic attractions in the area. Mexican Hat plays up the scenery in the area and emphasizes the hunting and fishing sports available there. These interesting and informative sheets have been printed for the convenience of the tourist in the area, and there should no longer be any passing-tile-buc- k when these travelers seek information. With these sheets the tourist should be able to see one area, and drive on well versed in the attractions in the neighboring vicinity. ever-increasi- Four-Come- LAW OFFICERS WILL ATTEND CRIME CONFERENCE street?
