Come and watch the children perform. Parents of the first grade students were invited to school Wedensday morning to visit and see the progress the children have made during the year. The visit was much enjoyed. Marie Wilhite has returned home from her vi.sit with Ruth, Richard, and friends at Gilman, Colo. Ovel went to Grand Junction Saturday and brought Marie home Sunday. She reports a very enjoyable time. Bruce and Glenna and family spent the weekend in Farmington, N.M., with their friends, Dr. and Mrs. John R. Bourne. While there, Glenna and Elizabeth attended a musical which was much enjoyed. Allan and Anita Grames went to Gateway on their long change. Allan came home Monday, but Anita will stay a week and come home with Janet Treat next Sunday. Mr .and Mrs. Lester Foulke of Grand Junction were guests at the Bill Riberts home over the Mothers Day weekend. Chuck and Beverly Harrison went to Monticello Sunday to attend the Stake Quarterly Conference of the San Juan Stake. There were 1241 people present. We understand this breaks the previous record. Happy birthday this week for Myrtle Davis, Calvin Stevens and Glenna Boltz. Anyone else? If so, better speak up next time! Glenna Boltz was honored with a few of her friends at a party given her by her sister. Myrtle Davis was the honoree at a party at her home on Tuesday. Mrs. Freda Hunt, and Mrs. Naida Hunt came with cake and all to help Myrtle celebrate. She received many useful gifts and had a lovely time. Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Dalton and family, were here from Almo-gordN.M., and stayed at Dorothy Lymans. Myrtle Davis was able to get acquainted with her new grandchild. Getting anywhere these days isnt an easy matter, with the road such a mess. But the future o, Ycge prospects for Seniors lock good ILgh School Graduates can toss their tassels this year with more future confidence than ever before in history. All they have to tunities undreamed of, even a decade ago, are theirs for the choosing. A College Placement Council survey shows that graduating college seniors w ill be receiving salaries running three to five per cent higher than last years. Electrical engineers will average $600 per month; physical scientists and mathmaticians $539, accountants $500, and Liberal arts and general business students will attract in the vicinity of $450 a month. Men and; women with Ph.D. degrees in engineering and science may be offered as high as $990 a month to start. Nationally it is reported the hottest field for job hunters is in data processing. Equipment manufacturers want engineers to design and sell computers and their customers want accountants and systems specialists to figure out what to do with the machines. Business Week magazine reports that some companies have dropped eastern colleges from interview schedules because 70 to 80 per cent of the more talented students are headed for advanced degrees. School districts are clamoring for elementary school teachers and almost everyone graduated can find a job unless he is too choosy in location. There is the usual over supply of boys P.E. teachers and a shortage in girls P.E. teachers. Shop, craftsmanship, English and foreign language instructors are in demand. The picture is bright for graduates, but for those with advanced degrees, industrial recruiters are fishing for them with that folding money for bait. Maris Redd to receive AS Degree June 1 Miss Maris Redd, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Redd, Monticello, will receive her A.S. Degree from the Church College of Hawaii on June 1.
