Show 7& BLANDING NEWS )uaa Second By ALBERT and GLADYS LYMAN William R. Hurst made trip to Salt Lake City and thence to Denver, returning Sunday morning. Jim McBready with his wife and six children have come from White Canyon on account of his wifes poor health, have rented rooms :n the Clarence Rogers He is going to work for Bob Shriver in the canyon, and will drive back and forth. Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Elam are the new operators of the Silver Spur Cafe. Bates Wilson was to be at a meeting of the Blanding people Monday in the interest of the shortcut from Grand Flat to the three Natural Bridges. People who have been to the Bridges, and any one who looks at the map of the road goirg on a long detour off to the south from Grand Flat, and coming back to one bridge with the necessity of walking about six miles to see the greatest of the three, will appreciate at once the tremendous importance of the new road which goes westward from Grand Flat and along down a ridge quite directly to a point midway between the three bridges, where it will be easily possible to drive near to each one of them. Even as it is, the bridges are a cash asset to the county. This easy access to the three of them would more than treble their importance since so many more people wmuld visit them, knowning they could see them all without the long wTalk. Of the hundreds of people who have come to the Bureau of Information asking about the bridges, and eager to see them, many, when they have heard about that walk, they have given up the road trip. With this new cut-oput into shape, it wmuld be possible in three to four hours to visit all the bridges and be back to Blanding. Making this road is by no means in the nature of a donation to some charitable project, it is an investment, which, if viewed in the light of what it realy means should have ready appeal to every thrifty and industrious person in the San Juan. Wilbur Laws is home from the San Juan Hospital wThere he was confined for some time after his car accident, but he is still considerably unfit and disabled from he got at that the shaking-u- p time. It is reported that while he was in the hospital, a granary full of baled hay on his farm east of here, was somehow opened or broken into, and the hay about all eaten or wasted by range cattle. Wibs many sympathizing friends have a chance here to express their sympathy in substantial and tangible terms. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Helquist returned Sunday from Salt Lake City where they had gone in the interest of business and pleasure. a E.
