artificial organs under the sometimes exasperated tuteledge of Dr Willem Ko Iff The same roving curiosity led him to switch focus again and study drug delivery systems in Italy where he spent the last 12 years conducting experiments writin9 and editing scientific papers starting a private company and enjoying siestas and evening glasses of grappa The Italian lifestyle suited him well in his latter especially looked forward to spending winter in their home in Mesa Arizona Bob was a very hard worker and built a successful Service Station business Whatever he did he did with all of his might He was very friendly to people in all walks of life wherever he went He loved to travel in their Motor Home and went with the Good Sam Group to many places Bob and Ruth enjoyed many trips to foreign countries and had many stories to tell Our Father understood obedience especially to the teaching of Jesus Christ He responded to a call to serve as a missionary for two years in England in the early 1950s leaving He his wife and children at home served faithfully as a missionary as well as other various callings in the church including Bishop's counselor and a High Councilman He was also a missionary and teacher in the home as well as with 'neighbors friends and business associates In 1989 he was elected National President of the Sons of Utah Pioneer He enjoyed traveling with our mother to the different encampments and association chapters A highlight of his year as National President was the carriage ride with his wife in the Days Of '47 Pioneer Parade fully dressed in pioneer
