Show THE Ocleon was transformed Into a bit of the Emerald Isle last nlht for the annual ball of the High School Girls' Athletic association. Two screens of green twined v;ith Emltax were at either end of the hall with hedges of California boxwood in front of them. Palms were banked along the sides of the hall and hanging baskets and ferns and a few bright flowers were suspended from the ceiling. The balcony where the orchestra was stationed was decorated in asparagus ferns and blooming potted plants. A long punch table in one corner of the hall bad a centc-rpiecc of a bank of ferns and green carnations, a punch bow was at either end. Tli e dance programme bore St. Pa trick emblems. Special features of entertainment were fancy dances. An especially effective one wn.s known as a "'dance of the elements." ele-ments." given by girls of the East high school tinder the direction of Miss Charlotte Char-lotte Stewart. The guests were seated at one long table, which was decorated with vases filled with white carnations, the fraternity flower. The Troubadours Trouba-dours furnished the music. About sixty were In attendance. The arrangements were In charge of Roger Van Pelt. A large tea will be given at the home of Mrs. A. H. S. Bird on Center street ! for the benefit of our Lady of Lourdes parish of the Catholic church. The tea I win be given under the auspices of the Catholic Woman's league.
