The rooms were fragrant with flowers, and following an interesting card, refreshments were served. The New Jersey academy held a reception recep-tion and Thanksgiving programme Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon in tiie assembly room of the academy building. The Pierian Literary Lit-erary society arranged the programme, which included music, readings, original Thanksgiving stories und a pantomime exercise ex-ercise by the younger pupils. The affair was well attended and much enjoyed. Monday afternoon the girls in the advanced ad-vanced cooking class of the New Jersey academy entertained at a 5 o'clock luncheon. lunch-eon. The tables were artistically arranged In the gymnasium room and prettilv decorated deco-rated with flowers. About forty invited guests enjoyed the occasion. A largely attended affair of Tuesday evening was the dancing partv given bv the students of the B. Y. college tn the auditorium. It was their annual Thanksgiving Thanks-giving ball and was enjoyed by a throng of dancers. The dance music was played by the college orchestra and the hail was decorated for the occasion. The regular meeting of the A. C. Woman's Wom-an's club was held Monday with Miss Elizabeth Smith. Important business was discussed, following which Miss Margaret Wilkinson read "Aiidrocles and the Lion," by Bernard Shaw. Tea was served by the hostess. Tho Clio circle held a meeting Wednesday Wednes-day with Mrs. Joseph O'Dell. The study drama, "The Wild Duck," by Ibsen, was interestingly given by Mrs. Luther M, Howell, and discussed by Mrs. Lucy Robinson. Rob-inson. Music was also a feature of the programme. Refreshments were served and a number of special guests were included. in-cluded. An enjoyable event of Tuesday evening was the banquet given in honor of Dr. H. P. Emcis of San Diego by the local dentists of Logan. The affair was held at tho Chicago cafe. Covers were laid for sixteen guests.
