Gathering the multitude mul-titude of expressions of admiration together to-gether and condensing them, the consensus con-sensus of opinion was expressed in these words: "It Is the pride of the west. It Is all that has been claimed for it and more, and places Salt Lake among cities with llrst-ciass hotels." Enjoy Buffet. Luncheon. Walters In bright new uniforms of1 black served a buffet luncheon in the large grill room' on the ground Hoor at the northwest corner of the building. In point of furnishings probably the most attractive feature and one often mentioned while lite furnishings were being installed Is the harmonious effect of colors In the tiers of rooms and the way In which the colors alternate on the different floors. Tho carpetlngs are heavy, making the building from top lo bottom almost noiseless. The rooms were opened into suites for the convenience of tho guests, showing how whole sections sec-tions of the hotel may readily be converted con-verted Into one apartment. The furniture furni-ture for the rooms is In keeping with the home-like appearance of the wall decorations. Brass beds are used In part of the rooms, while highly finished Circassian Cir-cassian walnut beds are used In others. The chairs are of the same modest character, char-acter, prettily and comfortably upholstered. uphol-stered. Striking In every way and marking the highest effort at keeping tho interior on a par with the beauty of the exterior of the building Is the main lobby. Four great rugs, green in color and velvety to the step, cover the center of the tiled floor. Arranged about the lobby are plenty of Inviting chairs and divans for the accommodation and comfort of the guests. All the details of the furnishings and equipment were given a careful and painstaking Inspection. That the hotel will testify to tho publicity It lias received re-ceived throughout the country was clearly clear-ly Impressed upon the guests Thursday night. Mtssourian First Guest. It was for a Mi-ssourlnn to be the first to register. Marcus Harris, a St. Louis wool merchant, who travels over the western country, gained entrance Thursday Thurs-day afternoon and wnlkincr up to the clerk's desk emphatically declaring that lie must have rooms for the night, look up the pen and with Chief Clerk Wesley Austin unable lo deny him the privilege registered himself, his wife and daughter. daugh-ter.
