Show CONFERENCE CROWDS ARE ALREADY COMING Visitors From the Country Are Pouring Info Zion fo Attend At-tend the Gathering. ' Although the "gathering to Zion." otherwise oth-erwise known as tie Mormon conference, does not. begin formally until Friday, crowds are already beginning to come to Salt Lake to attend its sessions. It Is estimated that there are already between 5000 and 6000 conference visitors In the city, and bv Saturday night this number num-ber will probably be augmented to 20,000 if not more. It Is a time of year when country people can find time to visit the cltv and. from the present outlook, they will be here ln droves. The conference is the seventy-eighth semi-annual conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It will bo opened by President Joseph F. Smith at 10 o'clock Friday morning, and will hold morning and afternoon sessions, Friday. Saturday and Sunday. Tho general gen-eral authorities of the church will probably prob-ably be "sustained. and a new apostle named to fill the vacancy caused by the death of George Teasdale. Sunday afternoon. after-noon. , ,, The semi-annual conference of the Deseret Sunday-school union will be .held next Sundav evening ln the Tabernacle. This conforence will he addressed on mat. ters relating to Sunday-school work by leaders In the church, and particularly leaders In the Sunday-school branch of the church. ; Sevmour B Young, senior prosldent of the "first council of seventy, has called a conferonco of the .seventies quorum of the chuicli. to be held In the Assembly hall, Friday evening at 7.30 o'clock A priesthood meeting will he held soma evening during the conference, probably Saturday evening. |
