Show ll Wedding Superstitions GIRLS, do you know the superstition super-stition about bowing three times to then ew moon? Such a performance is supposed to bring you a new sweetheart. This is only one of the many superstitions connected con-nected with love and marriage. It Is unlucky to break 'anything on your wedding day. If you do so, you may quarrel with your husband's hus-band's family. There is an old couplet: "Chang the name but not the letter, marry for worse but not for better." Many a girl has refused a man on the strength of that couplet, believing be-lieving that ill-luck will follow if she marries a man whose surname begins with the same letter as her own. You should never try on your weddinrr ring before the ceremony, nor should you have it cut If It doesn't fit. If you do the latter, superstition decrees that you will be widowed or separated. To see a spider on your wedding day is considered a very good omen, and If you should And one among' your bridal garments you will never i lack sufficient money. Never wear pearls at your wedding, wed-ding, as they symbolize tears; and do not look at yourself full length in the mi rror when you are fully arrayed for the ceremony. |
