Show MARSHALL FIELD IS . MARRIED IN LONDON Chicago Millionaire Merchant Takes Mrs. Arthur Caton for His Bride. LONDON, Sept. C Marshall Field and Mrs. Arthur Caton of Chicago were united In marriage at noon today at SL Garrett's church, Westminster. Canon Herbert Hensley Henson of St. Paul's cathedral, assisted by the Rev. Samuel Klrshbnum of St. Margaret's, performed the ceremony. The church was closed to the general public and only a small congregation composed of Immediate relatives of the couple and Embassador and Mrs, AVhltelaw Reld nnd the staff of the American embassy witnessed the ceremony. The groom, who was supported by his son, Marshall Field, Jr., arrived at the church promptly at noon and was followed fol-lowed immediately by tho bride. She was accompanied by Augustus Eddy and wore a very handsome costume of gr,ay chiffon trimmed with point laco and a large picture hat with ostrich feathers. With the exception of two Immense bouquets of Jlllcs on each side of the altar the church was not decorated. deco-rated. After the simple ceremony of the Church of England the bridal party retired re-tired to the vestry where the signing of the register was witnessed by Embassador Embassa-dor Held, Secretary Carter of the embassy, em-bassy, Augustus Eddy and Marshall Field, Jr., and where Mr. and Mrs. Field received the congratulations of their relatives and. a few friends. On leaving the church the party went to Clarlndes. where the wedding breakfast break-fast was served, Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Whltelaw Ttcld, Rldgley Carter, Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Field, Jr., Mrs. Beatty, Mr. and Mrs. Augustus N. Eddy, Katherlne Eddy, Spencer Eddy. Helen Blivh, Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Field, Mr. and Mrs. Dlbblee and Mr. and Mrs. Crossley. Mr. and Mrs. Field will spend a short honeymoon In Europe, returning toj America In a month's time. |
