Show "KING OF BUSHERS" COMMITS SUICIDE Ned Egan Prefers Death, to Eeing a Hopeless Cripple for Life. CHICAGO, May 5. "Ned" Egan, manager man-ager of the Milwaukee Baseball club of the American association, was found shot dead with a pistol at his side in a downtown hotel late tonight. According to the police the death was clearly a case of suicide, and friends ascribed the act to despondency caused by continued 111 health. Ned Egan, found dead in a downtown Chicago hotel tonight, was known as "King of the Bushes," being generally known among baseball men as developing develop-ing more minor league stars than any other minor league manager. He managed man-aged the Waterloo club of the Central association for ten years, ending his connection con-nection with that club last year. He was appointed manager of the Milwaukee Milwau-kee club early last winter, but was forced to resign when he sustained serious injuries in-juries when he slipped on an icy pavement pave-ment in St. Paul. Attending physicians, it is said, asserted that he would never be able to walk again. |
